Alberto González Plasencia, SECOND BEST ENOLOGIST IN SPAIN AND NUMBER 10 IN THE WORLD, JOINS BODEGAS TUNTE AS AN ENOLOGIST.
Alberto González Plasencia is joining Bodegas Tunte as an enologist. An icon of the wine scene, he brings his extraordinary knowledge in enology and a long track record in highly prestigious wineries, as well as his special love for the vine.
Born in La Gomera in the year 1962, he obtained a degree as a Technical Engineer in Agriculture. His significant professional background includes working as a viticulture and enology professor in the Ministry of Education, and as an enology expert at the prestigious Bodegas Timanfaya, Bodegas Stratvs, Bodegas La Vegueta, Bodegas Tamargada and Bodegas Rubicón.
He has been recognized as the 2nd best enologist in Spain, and number 10 in the world, at the ‘XIV Wine Masters Challenge’ held in Estoril (Portugal) in 2012. In addition, he has obtained a number of gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as prestigious prizes, for the wines for which he has worked.
Bodegas Tunte combines tradition with cutting-edge technology to produce quality wines from the Gran Canaria Denominación de Origen. It currently has 35.000m² of vineyards in the privileged region of Barranco de las Tirajanas, Tunte, where it grows the Malvasia Volcanica, Verdello and Albillo varieties.
